Stanley Milgram was born on August 15, 1933, in the Bronx, New York. He was the second of three children born to Samuel and Adele Milgram, working-class Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe.
Milgram’s mother was from Romania and his father, from Hungary. His father was a baker and his mother worked in the bakery.
