In an interview with lottery officials, James said it was his favorite game. He was out getting his wife's car fixed and stopped in at the E-Z Mart located at 1321 S Main St, Little Rock, to buy five Quick Pick tickets for the January 11 drawing.
He checked his tickets with the Arkansas Lottery + Club app the next day and was thrilled to find he'd won a prize of $85,000. The winning numbers were 2, 17, 22, 24 and 39. James' heart was racing, but he wanted to surprise his family, so he decided to keep his win a secret for a while.
He said, “I thought, 'Should I call my wife or not?' And I said no, I'm just going to take the check in the house.” He intends to use the money to pay off some bills.
